January Serenity - Sat 24th

€50.00

We’ll begin the afternoon with a mindful walk through the water gardens and private woodland of the estate, gently easing you out of the pace of everyday life and into the spaciousness of a new year. This quiet time in nature invites you to soften the edges of the year gone by, to acknowledge what you’re ready to release and to gently sense what you wish to welcome in its place. Surrounded by the stillness of the trees and the steady rhythm of winter, you’ll be guided to connect with your breath, your body and the deeper intentions that often sit beneath the surface at this time of year.

As daylight begins to fade, we move indoors to share a cup of ceremonial cacao. This heart-opening plant medicine supports emotional clarity, grounding and a feeling of soft expansion - the perfect companion for reflecting on your resolutions, hopes, or guiding words for the year ahead. Cacao helps to quiet the noise, soften resistance and create the inner conditions for genuine insight to rise.

We then flow into gentle, accessible yoga as the sun sets. A slow, nourishing practice that unwinds held tension, restores balance and creates physical space for new energy to move through the body. This grounding movement prepares you to fully receive the deeper stillness that follows.

Our evening closes with a restorative guided meditation - an opportunity to settle into yourself, integrate the day and align with what you want to cultivate in the coming months. This deep rest supports clarity, emotional reset and a sense of inner steadiness as you step into a new cycle.

By the time we emerge, the waxing gibbous moon will be rising - bright, steady and nearing fullness. This lunar phase is traditionally associated with building momentum, refining your intentions and strengthening whatever you are choosing to grow. Its presence mirrors the work of our time together: release, renewal, clarity and gentle forward movement.

This gathering is an invitation to begin the new year in a way that feels rooted, intentional and aligned. Surrounded by nature, supported by community and guided through practices that open the heart, settle the mind and reconnect you with what truly matters. Whether you’re seeking to set meaningful resolutions, let go of the weight of the past year, or simply start the year with more presence and ease, this retreat offers a nurturing, deeply restorative space to do so.

She went on to explore yoga, meditation, movement and contrast therapy, proving that “it’s never too late” for the body and mind to transform.

She founded Anam Kara, a new wellness centre at Glendalough House, as a space for community, restoration and connection to nature. Sophie’s vision is to create a modern sanctuary in the Wicklow Mountains, blending ancient healing practices with contemporary wellness.

What do I need to bring?

We will send out a detailed list of what to bring, for now just excitement and enthusiasm for our day.

What is Cacao?

In it's rawest form, cacao is a heart-opening beneficial medicinal plant. It is consumed in ceremony as a warm drink . We source our ceremonial grade cacao directly from it origin in the jungle rainforests of Guatemala.
